Monroe, MI LGBTQ+ Community
Our local 501(c)(3) LGBTQ group focuses on four key areas – social, support, events and visibility – to improve the quality of life for kind people everywhere, but especially those lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer folks in our community. With your donations we’re able to host monthly and weekly events. It also allows us to grow with new project we want to start in the coming months and years.

Embrace Donation Funds
Below you’ll find a number of funds that are used to do the things we do at Embrace Monroe. The reason for all of these funds is we want to build community here in Monroe so please consider donating to our General Fund or any of the causes below that might be near and dear to YOUR heart.

EMBRACE EVENTS FUND
HELP COVER PAID & free events
Creating a community means being able to get together. That’s what this fund is all about: help provide monetary resources so Embrace Monroe can put on activities to help build more chosen families.
Center & Supplies FUND
A home base and Merch to share
Embrace Monroe seeks a place they can own or lease of their own. This would provide the LGBTQ+ community a place where they could feel safe. In addition the fund helps provide promotional swag to spread the word!
pRIDE EVENTS FUND
Spreading love & Knowledge in MI
While Monroe County has a pride celebration other areas around Michigan do too. This fund is set up so we can have the giveaways at these events for folks of all ages who come to pride events!
Community Garden Fund
Growing in all kinds of ways
Community gardens bring communities together. Embrace Monroe’s garden’s mission is to have funds for growing things with the end goal of feeding the community each late summer and fall with our harvest.
About Us…
Social
Interacting with the community is one of the best ways to form strong relationships regardless of orientation. Our goal is to create a group that’s safe for Monroe’s LGBTQ+ community and their loved ones while also providing fun ways to get together.
Support
One problem that many people in the LGBTQ+ community face is a feeling of being alone. That’s why we meet each month to discuss ways to make our group better and to discuss anything that’s on our minds.
Events
Since 2020 Embrace has hosted Monroe’s Pride Event but that’s not all we do. There are lots of other fun activities we host. Plus, if you’re a business, we’re always seeking donations for our events throughout the year.
Visibility
For decades people in the LGBTQ+ community have lived in the shadows but the truth is we are everywhere. Our goal is to not just be seen by the local community but to also be embraced as productive members of our society with value and worth.
